Job Description

Purpose of the Job

Providing specialist advice to clients on detailed regulatory requirements and delivering complex regulatory implementation projects. To maximise our presence within the industry to secure new clients and business opportunities.

Main Responsibilities

You will be an integral part of the Payments Practice whose clients range from UK based SPIs to international EMIs and FMIs providing innovative fintech solutions. The role will be varied and challenging, enabling you to see the payments industry from a unique perspective as part of a flexible consulting team. Your core responsibilities will include client delivery, servicing, and business development, involving regulatory advice, technical research, producing materials, and supporting RegTech solutions.

This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth of the Payment Practice and gain exposure to other sectors through cross-practice initiatives.

Client delivery and servicing
  • Manage a portfolio of client relationships, providing high-quality advice on regulatory compliance, including designing compliance frameworks, reviews, monitoring, training, assisting with authorisations, and drafting policies.
  • Maintain a client-centric approach to retain business, understand clients’ needs, and identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Act as the main contact for clients, handling queries, managing expectations, and collaborating with global teams.
  • Stay informed on regulatory developments and advise clients accordingly.
  • Manage projects with multiple workstreams, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
Business development
  • Expand payments and e-money revenue through support, projects, and new offerings.
  • Build relationships with clients, trade bodies, and regulators.
  • Seek new clients and leverage existing relationships for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Prepare and present proposals to prospective clients.
  • Represent the firm at industry events and promote the brand.
  • Participate in internal events, training, and marketing activities.
Qualifications and Experience

You should be highly motivated, eager to learn, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Essential qualifications include:

  • A degree and 3-5 years’ relevant experience in payment services and/or e-money compliance, gained at a PSP, EMI, regulator, or professional services firm.
  • Deep understanding of FCA regulations and expectations for the payments sector, with strong technical knowledge and experience advising payment and e-money firms.
  • Knowledge of PSRs, EMRs, PSD2, FCA Handbook, FCA Approach Document, and relevant FCA and EBA guidelines.
  • Experience managing client relationships and projects, with excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of non-UK and non-EU payment regulations is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.
