Job summary

Hastings Direct is seeking a Complex Claims Handler – Home Claims to manage a portfolio of large loss and subsidence home claims from Leicester or Bexhill in a hybrid role. You will coordinate with suppliers, develop case plans, and drive fair outcomes for customers.

The role requires strong technical claims knowledge, understanding of building construction, and proven complaint handling, with a focus on accurate reserving and pricing.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of large loss home claims across perils including subsidence.
• Good knowledge of building construction and reinstatement processes.
• Experience in handling complaints and applying Consumer Duty principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of large loss and subsidence home claims from £100,000 upwards, achieving favorable financial outcomes.
• Develop tailored case plans and work with key suppliers to reach optimal resolutions.
• Ensure claims are reserved, coded, and managed to enable accurate pricing and reserving.
• Collaborate to develop and maintain best practice documents for home claims including buildings, contents, and recoveries.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to others and act as a technical referral point for complex complaints.
