Job summary

Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust in Northamptonshire is seeking a Senior Community Nurse (Band 6) to lead our wound tiering service, deliver advanced wound care, and guide clinical development across Tier 3 and Tier 4 pathways.

You will run wound clinics, provide Doppler assessments, support staff development, and act as a clinical expert for nursing colleagues, while promoting safe governance and multi-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration.
• Advanced knowledge of leg ulcer management and tissue viability.
• Proficient in performing and interpreting Doppler assessments.
• Previous experience in clinic management and line management of staff.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
• Specialist qualification in wound care or tissue viability or DNSPQ.
• Independent prescribing V300 or willingness to work towards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage specialist wound care clinics across Northamptonshire.
• Deliver advanced wound management and complex leg ulcer care.
• Undertake and interpret Doppler assessments and guide treatment plans.
• Act as a clinical expert and resource for nursing colleagues.
• Provide line management, supervision and mentorship to clinic staff.
• Support quality improvement, audit and service development activities.
• Ensure high standards of clinical governance, documentation and patient safety.
• Work collaboratively with community nursing teams, GPs, care homes and wider MDTs.
• Deliver education and training to support workforce development.
