This full-time locum role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic mental health team and deliver high‑quality care at a competitive hourly rate up to £31, depending on experience.

The role involves clinical triage, risk assessment, care pathway planning, and close collaboration with referrers, service users, and families.

Qualifications

• NMC Registration required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct timely clinical screening and triaging of referrals.
• Implement robust risk assessments to guide clinical decisions and appropriate signposting.
• Assess high-risk or complex patients, providing management advice and clinical interventions in line with evidence-based guidelines.
• Determine suitable pathways for patients, including secondary care referrals or community resource signposting.
• Direct administrative staff to update referral outcomes in RiO, maintaining accurate records.
• Facilitate transfers to secondary care when necessary.
• Operate autonomously within mental health legal frameworks to make clinical decisions.
• Support the professional growth of colleagues through sharing knowledge and offering peer support.
• Act as a reliable point of contact for referrers, service users, and their families, integrating their perspectives into care planning.
• Maintain the public image of the Trust by managing referrals professionally and setting a strong example for the team.
• Use appropriate escalation procedures for complex cases, leveraging frameworks like Trusted Assessment.
• Participate in governance and regular audits to ensure high standards within the SPA.
