Job summary

NRL in Newcastle is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning strategy for a major construction development. You will plan, coordinate, and deliver tests, ensuring that building systems meet design specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.

You will oversee MEP coordination, manage stakeholders, review drawings, and compile handover documentation, applying best practices in health, safety, and quality.

Qualifications

• Strong track record as a Commissioning Manager or Specialist within construction, MEP, or building services.
• Knowledge of commissioning processes for electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and commissioning schedules.
• Excellent leadership and coordination skills.
• Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage commissioning plans and programmes to meet project milestones.
• Oversee functional and performance testing of systems, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Coordinate multiple stakeholders, including MEP teams, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Conduct inspections and validation of mechanical and electrical systems prior to handover.
• Identify and resolve technical issues swiftly to maintain progress.
• Prepare commissioning documentation and ensure regulatory requirements are met.
• Implement best practices in health, safety, and quality management during commissioning phases.
