Job summary

Verto People Ltd is seeking a Senior Commissioning Manager for a leading engineering and power solutions firm in London. You will lead end-to-end commissioning for hyperscale data centre projects, with responsibility for M&E power solutions and standby systems.

The role requires strong leadership, in-depth knowledge of electrical systems, and the ability to coordinate across multiple teams while traveling to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Senior commissioning experience in data centres or critical power environments.
• Strong knowledge of LV/HV electrical systems and generator control testing.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplined teams and manage complex projects.
• Flexible travel to project sites across the UK as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning teams across multiple hyperscale data centre projects, delivering safely and on schedule.
• Oversee commissioning, testing and validation of standby power systems and generators.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients and subcontractors to resolve issues and assure quality.

We’re looking for a Senior Commissioning Manager to join a leading engineering and power solutions firm specialising in the data centre space, based in London!

The ideal candidate will be a Senior Commissioning Manager who has proven experience delivering end-to-end hyperscale data centre projects – specifically looking after M&E power solutions, generators and prime power systems.

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Commissioning Manager on a hyperscale data centre:

• Lead and manage commissioning teams across multiple projects, ensuring safe, efficient delivery in line with project programmes and deadlines

• Oversee the commissioning, testing and validation of standby power systems, generators and associated electrical infrastructure

• Coordinate with project managers, clients, subcontractors and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and maintain quality standards

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, commissioning procedures and documentation requirements, driving continuous improvement throughout delivery

About the Senior Commissioning Manager:

• Proven experience in a senior commissioning management role within critical power, data centres, standby generation or a similar technical environment

• Strong technical knowledge of generators, LV/HV electrical systems, control systems and integrated systems testing

• Excellent leadership, project management and stakeholder communication skills, with experience managing multiple projects and teams

• Relevant electrical engineering qualifications, a strong understanding of health and safety requirements, and a full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel to project sites
