Job summary

Verto People Ltd is seeking a Senior Commissioning Manager in London to lead commissioning across hyperscale data centre projects. You will manage commissioning teams, oversee testing and validation of standby power systems, and coordinate with clients and contractors to ensure safe, on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates will have proven senior commissioning management experience in critical power or data centres, with strong knowledge of generators, LV/HV electrical systems, and project leadership

We’re looking for a Senior Commissioning Manager to join a leading engineering and power solutions firm specialising in the data centre space, based in London!

The ideal candidate will be a Senior Commissioning Manager who has proven experience delivering end-to-end hyperscale data centre projects – specifically looking after M&E power solutions, generators and prime power systems.

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Commissioning Manager on a hyperscale data centre:

• Lead and manage commissioning teams across multiple projects, ensuring safe, efficient delivery in line with project programmes and deadlines
• Oversee the commissioning, testing and validation of standby power systems, generators and associated electrical infrastructure
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, subcontractors and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and maintain quality standards
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, commissioning procedures and documentation requirements, driving continuous improvement throughout delivery

About the Senior Commissioning Manager:

• Proven experience in a senior commissioning management role within critical power, data centres, standby generation or a similar technical environment
• Strong technical knowledge of generators, LV/HV electrical systems, control systems and integrated systems testing
• Excellent leadership, project management and stakeholder communication skills, with experience managing multiple projects and teams
• Relevant electrical engineering qualifications, a strong understanding of health and safety requirements, and a full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel to project sites
