Job summary

JN Bentley is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead commissioning across instrumentation, LVDBs/MCCs, PLCs and SCADA installations on site in the South West region. You will develop commissioning plans and integrate design, construction and commissioning activities to deliver high-quality projects for water and wastewater networks.

The role requires CSCS/SSSTS, an engineering degree (or equivalent), and the ability to travel across the region.

Qualifications

• CSCS and SSSTS certifications are required.
• HNC/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering (or equivalent) is preferred.
• Working toward professional registration is expected.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and MEICA construction is required.
• Knowledge of.process instrumentation, P&IDs and relevant standards (UK/international) is important.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving and communication skills are essential.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the region is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage contractors and technical delivery across instrumentation, industrial networks, LVDBs/MCCs, PLCs and SCADA installations.
• Lead process commissioning activities, including developing commissioning plans and integrating design, construction and commissioning.
• Support pre-construction through surveys, scoping and compliance, and oversee outage planning, maintenance requirements, SSOW and RAMS.
• Drive QA through ITPs, acceptance documents, training materials and completion documentation, while managing “As Constructed” commissioning records.
• Deliver functional commissioning of electrical assets and instrumentation, perform sampling and lab analysis, and maintain regulatory outputs.
• Lead and mentor Process Commissioning Engineers, chair commissioning/outage meetings and build strong client relationships.
