You may already be a head of commercial property or a solicitor with people management experience, ready to take a leadership role in a friendly, collaborative firm.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with significant experience in commercial property law.
• Experience managing a varied commercial property caseload from instruction through to completion.
• Proven experience leading, supervising, mentoring and developing legal professionals.
• Strong technical expertise in commercial property practice, procedure and legislation.
• Excellent client care and relationship-building skills.
• Commercially astute with understanding of financial and operational aspects of running a legal department.
• Strong business development and networking skills to grow client relationships.
• Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail.
• Clear and professional communication with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high service standards.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing the Commercial Property team and developing a high-performing culture.
• Supervising and mentoring team members on technical and professional matters.
• Leading recruitment, performance management and training for the team.
• Managing a varied caseload from instruction through to completion.
• Advising clients on acquisitions, disposals, development, investment, and landlord/tenant matters.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, leases and related documentation.
• Providing clear, commercially focused legal advice to a broad client base.
• Building relationships with clients, agents, lenders and other professionals.
• Taking responsibility for the department's financial performance including billing and WIP.
• Monitoring matter progress, costs and deadlines for efficiency.
• Ensuring regulatory, financial and risk management compliance.
• Contributing to the department's business plan and leadership initiatives.
• Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities for the firm's services.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to support clients' wider legal needs.
