Job summary

Public Sector Resourcing CWS on behalf of Defra invites applications for 3 Senior Commercial Officers (Inside IR35). Two 24-month contracts and one 8-month contract, hybrid with 2 days per week in Warrington and 1 day in Leeds.

You will deliver commercial strategy, procurement and contract/grant management within Defra's commercial category, ensuring value for money and regulatory compliance across the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Hand on commercial experience across procurements, contracts or grants.
• NEC4 knowledge and experience.
• Stakeholder engagement experience across complex landscapes.
• Experience of procurement processes within the Public Sector.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in the commercial delivery of medium to high-value projects, procurements, grants and contract/supplier management across the category lifecycle.
• Develop initial procurement or grant strategies and business plans.
• Plan and manage market engagement exercises and assist in pre-tender/tender documents.
• Conduct tenders in compliance with Public Contracts Regulations and manage evaluations.
• Provide advice on commercial risks and opportunities and maximise value for money and savings.
• Oversee contracts/grants delivery and monitor performance and governance.
