Job summary

HS2 Ltd is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to deliver Commercial and Stakeholder Management across third-party interfaces, leading a team within the Third Parties Commercial Team. The role drives contract strategy, negotiation, and governance to ensure HS2 scheme delivery on time and within cost targets.

The position requires experience with high-value contracts, strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders across public and private sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience leading commercial management teams on major infrastructure projects.
• Experience with public sector funding and large contracts.
• Strong analytical, commercial and negotiating skills.
• Ability to develop and manage complex commercial relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of complex and bespoke commercial agreements with Third Parties, ensuring alignment with the HS2 Commercial Strategy and objectives.
• Lead development of commercial models and strategies for third parties; ensure risk management and value for money.
• Coordinate with Delivery procurements and other directorates to influence delivery strategies.
• Draft agreement principles and instruct legal for drafting; negotiate terms post-agreement.
• Embed agreements within business teams with contract management plans; monitor performance.
• Lead negotiation strategies for additional agreements and variations; manage monthly performance reports.
• Support settlement of supply chain disputes and ensure governance requirements are met.
