Job summary

HS2 Ltd in Birmingham seeks a Commercial Manager to deliver commercial activities within Delivery teams, providing independent input to the Head of Commercial. You will oversee contract management, variations, payments and cost verification while driving supply chain performance.

The role requires leadership in commercial planning, governance, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on efficiency and industry best practices across the IPT.

Qualifications

• Experience managing high-value contracts on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong contract and commercial risk management skills.
• Ability to develop commercial strategies and plans for capital projects.
• Ability to negotiate with internal and external parties and settle disputes.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial assurance to the Head of Commercial of all Delivery commercial activities.
• Deliver commercial and contract management of contracts to maintain effective control.
• Administer NEC3 contract obligations, including variations and compensation events and contract payments.
• Review and analyse supply chain monthly reports to drive performance and input contract data into monthly reports.
• Support settlement of supply chain disputes and provide day-to-day commercial advice to the client team.
