Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear in Warrington (Birchwood site) is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead end-to-end commercial strategy on national defence programmes. You will work with project teams, clients and suppliers to shape strategy, manage risk and governance across the contract lifecycle.

The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, supporting bids, managing change and delivering value for Cavendish Nuclear and customers.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial management experience in complex engineering or infrastructure environments.
• Proven track record delivering commercial strategy on large, high‑value contracts and bids.
• Experience with NEC contracts, particularly NEC3.
• Demonstrated ability to manage commercial risk, change and governance effectively.
• Experience influencing stakeholders and negotiating at senior levels.

Responsibilities

• Providing commercial leadership across complex contracts, projects and bids.
• Developing and driving risk-based commercial strategies with project teams.
• Managing commercial governance, compliance and performance on large‑scale contracts.
• Building and sustaining strong commercial relationships with customers and supply chain partners.
• Escalating high‑risk or complex commercial issues.
