Cavendish Nuclear is seeking a Commercial Manager for its Warrington site with hybrid working. You will lead commercial strategy across major defence-related programmes, balancing bids, risk and governance to deliver value for Cavendish Nuclear and clients.

You will work closely with project teams, customers and suppliers, with responsibility for complex contracts and high-stakes negotiations within a national security context.

The role

As a Commercial Manager, you’ll provide end‑to‑end commercial leadership across contracts and projects within our Nuclear Defence Support programme. Working closely with project teams, clients and suppliers, you’ll shape commercial strategy, manage risk and ensure strong governance throughout the contract lifecycle.

Day-to-day, you’ll balance strategic oversight with hands‑on delivery, supporting bids, managing complex change and driving value for both Cavendish Nuclear and our customers. In doing so, you’ll strengthen your commercial leadership capability while contributing to programmes that matter to national defence and long‑term security.

• Providing commercial leadership and guidance across complex contracts, projects and bids
• Developing and driving risk‑based commercial strategies in collaboration with project teams
• Managing commercial governance, compliance and performance on large‑scale contracts
• Building and sustaining strong commercial relationships with customers and supply chain partners
• Acting as the escalation point for high‑risk or complex commercial issues

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of 3 days in the office/onsite.

Essential Experience Of The Commercial Manager

• Extensive commercial management experience within complex engineering or infrastructure environments
• Strong track record delivering commercial strategy on large, high‑value contracts and bids
• Proven experience working with NEC contracts, particularly NEC3
• Demonstrated ability to manage commercial risk, change and governance effectively
• Experience influencing stakeholders and negotiating successfully at senior levels

Qualifications For The Commercial Manager

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Building Services Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS or World Commerce and Contracting is desirable
