Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to support a major rail infrastructure programme within the EKFB supply chain. You will lead audit, verification and review of subcontractor costs, ensuring independent commercial assurance and NEC contract compliance across the project.

The role requires a track record in cost verification, commercial auditing and working within large, complex supply chains, preferably on HS2 or EKFB programmes.

Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to support a major infrastructure programme within the EKFB supply chain. This role will focus on the audit, verification and review of subcontractor costs, providing independent commercial assurance and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. The successful candidate will possess significant experience in rail infrastructure projects, strong commercial audit capabilities, and a thorough understanding of NEC contracts. Contract- £550 P/day inside IR35 Perm - £80k.

Responsibilities

• Review, audit and verify subcontractor costs, applications and supporting records.
• Assess the validity of cost submissions, compensation events and change-related claims.
• Provide robust commercial challenge and assurance across the supply chain.

Requirements

• Extensive experience operating as a Senior Commercial Manager, Commercial Manager or Quantity Surveyor on major infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record in cost verification, commercial auditing and subcontractor cost review.
• Strong rail sector experience.
• Excellent knowledge and practical application of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
• Experience working within large and complex supply chains.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to challenge commercial submissions in a constructive and professional manner.
• Experience working on HS2, EKFB or similar major infrastructure programmes.
• Professional qualification such as MRICS, MCICES or equivalent.
• Experience of target cost contracts and cost reimbursable mechanisms.
