Job summary

Amey is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to lead the commercial management ofTfL projects across London and surrounding areas. You will manage the full lifecycle from tender and procurement through to final account, ensuring commercial success, risk control, and entitlement recovery, while collaborating with the London team across multiple sites.

The role offers hybrid working, salary with regular reviews, and opportunities to progress to Principal Commercial Manager, supported by training

Qualifications

• Rail, Highways or Civil engineering quantity surveying experience.
• Experience managing subcontractors, cost planning and reporting controls.
• Degree in commercial management or equivalent.
• Expert Excel user with strong modelling skills.
• Working knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Familiarity with SAP/COINS/Oracle financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of a portfolio of TfL projects across London.
• Manage full commercial lifecycle from tender to final account.
• Maintain risk management and recover contractual entitlements.
• Draft EWNs and handle change/compensation events.
• Oversee subcontract procurement and commercial administration.
• Provide overall reporting control for rail systems delivery.

Title: Senior Commercial Manager

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Senior QS/ Senior Commercial Manager to join our dynamic Eastern and Southern team working on our transport for London framework. 37.5hrs per week, hybrid working operating in collaboration with the London team in multiple sites/locations.

In this role you will lead the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of small to medium-sized infrastructure projects primarily for Transport for London (TfL) across London and the surrounding areas. You will be responsible for the full commercial management of multiple schemes from tender and procurement through to final account, ensuring commercial success, effective risk management, and the recovery of contractual entitlement throughout the project lifecycle.

What You’ll Bring

• Rail, Highways or Civil engineering quantity surveying experience.
• Prior experience working in complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Degree educated in commercial management or other relevant qualification (Relevant experience in lieu can also be considered).
• Prior experience with managing subcontractors, cost planning and reporting controls.
• Development/training of junior commercial team members.
• Expert Excel user.
• Working knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Knowledge of financial accounting systems (SAP, COINS, ORACLE etc)
