Job summary

William James Recruitment is partnering with a prestigious Birmingham firm to appoint a Commercial Litigation Partner/Senior Partner in the city centre. The role offers significant leadership responsibility across high-value matters within a national platform and a clear pathway to equity.

The successful candidate will lead complex disputes, manage key client relationships, drive growth, and contribute to strategy and operations within a flexible, hybrid working environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead Solicitor on a broad range of Commercial Litigation matters, including high-value, cross-border and complex disputes
• Advising on commercial contract disputes and wider business conflicts
• Handling shareholder, partnership, and director disputes
• Acting on restrictive covenant and defamation matters
• Supporting international arbitration / cross-border work where required
• Managing client relationships across a diverse portfolio, including corporates, OMBs/SMEs and public sector bodies
• Driving business development activity, including networking and building a sustainable pipeline
• Playing a key role in the growth and strategic development of the Birmingham disputes team
• Operating within Senior Management frameworks to contribute to strategy, operations management and people leadership
