Job summary

Network Rail is expanding its Commercial team in the North West & Central region with opportunities for a Senior Commercial Manager. You will provide strategic commercial leadership across major railway programmes, ensuring delivery through effective governance, risk control and contract management.

You will develop commercial strategies, oversee procurement and maximise value for the organisation. You will lead negotiations, manage complex commercial matters, and mentor a high‑performing team

Qualifications

• Experience leading commercial management for large railway programmes.
• Strong knowledge of railway/construction contracts and governance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management across high‑profile rail infrastructure projects from inception to final account.
• Develop and implement commercial strategies, procurement approaches and contract management plans.
• Provide expert advice to stakeholders and oversee complex contract matters, governance and risk control.
• Lead negotiations, drive continuous improvement, and protect organisational commercial interests.
