Job summary

Barhale is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor in the UK to lead the commercial management of civil engineering projects across multiple frameworks and clients. You will drive cost reporting, forecasting, cash flow, and procurement while ensuring contractual compliance and risk control.

Essential experience includes construction industry background, NEC/IChemE contracts, and monthly forecasting with strong numeracy and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the construction industry.
• Familiarity with IChemE/NEC forms of contract and knowledge of Construction Law.
• Experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and accruals.
• Demonstrable experience of monthly forecasting and cost analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial leadership to project teams and manage cost reporting.
• Lead cost management, forecasting and cash flow activities.
• Manage main and subcontract contracts, change and final accounts.
• Protect the business from commercial risk and ensure governance compliance.
