Job summary

Personio is seeking a Managing Counsel to own end-to-end commercial contracting. You will lead a team of three and set strategy for customer, vendor, and partner agreements across Germany, the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and Spain, negotiating high-value deals.

The role emphasizes an AI-forward legal approach, developing playbooks and workflows that scale with business growth, and reporting to the General Counsel.

Qualifications

• Experience: 8+ years' PQE with commercial or tech/SaaS contracts, ideally in-house.
• Leadership: proven ability to lead a legal/commercial team.
• Commercial range: deep expertise in customer SaaS contracting and vendor agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial and procurement contracting, from customer SaaS to vendor agreements.
• Manage a team of three, set priorities, review work and develop commercial judgment.
• Own the commercial strategy and legal position across Germany, the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and Spain.
• Lead complex negotiations for high-value customer deals and important vendor relationships.
• Build and maintain contract playbooks, templates and precedent language for self-serve use.
