Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is partnering with a well‑established manufacturing company in Irlam seeking an experienced CNC Turner. The role involves programming, setting and operating CNC lathes, working from engineering drawings to produce high‑quality components with Fanuc controls.

You will read and interpret GD&T, edit ISO turning programs and select appropriate tooling, while maintaining strict quality and safety standards in a busy machine shop environment.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on CNC turning experience with Fanuc controls.
• Ability to read, interpret and edit ISO turning programs.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Good knowledge of tooling and inserts selection for each job.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving in machining environments.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in first-offs and samples.
• Experience with live tooling and sub-spindles is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC lathes across a range of turning machines.
• Read drawings and GD&T to manufacture components to spec.
• Edit and prove ISO turning programs for production.
• Select tooling/ Inserts, set offsets, chucks and bar feeders.
• Produce first-off components and verify against quality standards.
• Monitor operations and record production data and SAP entries.
• Maintain machine maintenance and report faults.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
