Job summary

Aspion Search in Dudley is seeking an experienced CNC Operator / Setter / Programmer to join the production team. You will set up, program and run CNC lathes to produce precision components in line with engineering drawings.

The role requires strong turning experience, attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team to meet daily targets. Training and progression opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in CNC turning.
• Experience setting, operating and programming CNC lathes.
• G-Code programming experience.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment.
• CAD/CAM experience preferred; training available.
• Apprenticeship or formal engineering qualification preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC lathes, load materials, install tooling and secure workpieces.
• Programme, set and operate CNC turning machines to drawings.
• Optimise machining processes for efficiency and cycle times.
• Carry out tool offsets, machine adjustments and first-off inspections.
• Inspect finished components using micrometers, verniers, gauges and height gauges.
• Complete in-process quality checks and support CMM inspection (training provided).
• Produce accurate quality and production documentation.
• Work with Production Supervisors and Quality teams to meet targets.
• Support and guide junior operators as required.
• Ensure ISO quality standards and Health & Safety compliance.
