Job summary

Howco Group in Stockport, Greater Manchester, is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist - Milling to join our manufacturing team. You will read engineering drawings and set up and operate milling machines to produce components to tight tolerances.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years’ experience, an engineering apprenticeship, and knowledge of Fanuc controls. You will work within quality procedures and contribute to a safe, efficient production environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience operating CNC machines.
• Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent required.
• Fanuc experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate CNC machines.
• Manufacture components from engineering drawings, whilst working within company Quality procedures.
• Self-inspection of own work.
• Preventative & general maintenance checks.
• Ensure all HSE legislations are adhered to at all times.
• Read and understand engineering drawings.
• Ability to set and operate CNC machines - Milling.
• Ability to edit and prove out CNC programs.
• Ability to use a range of measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers etc.).
• Sound knowledge of geometrical tolerances.
• Strong team player with a can do attitude.
• Must be self-motivated.
