Senior Cloud Solutions Architect

If yes, then you might be the ideal candidate for this exciting opportunity to make your mark as a Data Engineering Team Manager with Aviva. Join us in transforming the insurance industry through cutting-edge technology and innovative practices.

A bit about the job:

  • Define and maintain a 3-year strategy to ensure our platform design is modern, relevant, and achievable.
  • Work closely with Platform owners, Architects, and Solution Designers to translate strategic requirements into detailed designs and standards.
  • Ensure all integrations adhere to Cloud principles and platform standards, while governing the overall platform design and chairing the Actuarial Solution Design Forum (ASDF).
  • Investigate infrastructure issues, implement procedures to meet SLA and DR strategies, and support hardware/software upgrades and vulnerability management.
  • Drive initiatives to reduce operational costs, contribute to best practice guidelines, and maintain efficient designs with comprehensive documentation.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
  • Proven experience in a Cloud designer-related role, with a strong understanding of AWS technologies and DevOps processes, including AWS methodologies like EC2, RDS, AWS FSxN, and S3.
  • Excellent communication abilities to effectively interact with both IT and business stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, capable of efficiently managing work for yourself and others.
  • Ability to diagnose complex issues and translate technical and business information into practical solutions.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to lead and motivate a diverse team, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and adapt quickly under pressure.

  • Starting salary £60,000 - £70,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
  • Bonus opportunity 10% of annual salary - Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s

  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days
