Job summary

Turnitin seeks a DevOps Engineer to design, automate and operate large-scale systems across a global infrastructure. You will contribute to architecture, monitoring, and resilient deployments, and work with IaC tooling like Terraform and CloudFormation.

You’ll collaborate with engineering, QA and support, break down complex features into manageable milestones, and uphold reliability and security across the platform.

Qualifications

• Experience designing reliable, fault-tolerant service architectures with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB and SQS/SNS.
• Hands-on configuration management with Ansible and Puppet.
• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code best practices using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Troubleshooting production systems across network, storage, compute and dependencies.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Bitbucket Pipelines.
• Strong understanding of microservices and distributed architectures.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, QA, and Support teams.
• Break down large features into shippable milestones and stories.
• Contribute to infrastructure architecture for on-premise and AWS deployments.
• Write readable, testable, maintainable IaC code and documentation.
• Ensure fault-tolerant and highly available systems for external customers and internal teams.
