The Mimecast Cloud Networking team delivers a reliable and performant network built on top of a hybrid-cloud technology stack to ensure Mimecast’s services remain available and able to serve Mimecast customers at scale.

The Cloud Networking team at Mimecast is looking for a talented Senior Cloud Network Engineer with experience automating and operating networks in hybrid-cloud environments. We’d like to hear from you if you’re an expert in Networking and IaC, with an automation-first mindset, and know what it takes to build and operate a resilient, secure, and highly automated network architecture. You should be proficient in scripting and IaC tools such as Ansible, Python, and Terraform, and experienced working in a Linux environment. As a Mimecast Senior Cloud Network Engineer, you will:

1. Build, configure, and administer network devices, services, and components, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability using Network as Code philosophies.
2. Proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues across distributed networks, providing swift restoration to operational status and minimizing downtime.
3. Deploy network changes and maintain tools, automation, and Infrastructure as Code to manage and monitor the network.
4. Provide outstanding support for our internal Engineering teams by collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to support program delivery.
5. Identify improvements to runbooks, monitoring, and documentation.
6. Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to alerts.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Experience in a relevant technical role, with excellent proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting distributed networks in a Hybrid Cloud environment.
• Experience working in large environments, understanding the importance of IaC and Network as Code.
• Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining network infrastructure in data centers and AWS.
• In-depth understanding of networking principles and protocols.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges and deliver results.
• Creativity, resourcefulness, and outstanding attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to problem-solve and explain resolutions effectively.

Candidates with skills in the following areas are preferred:

• Relevant degree or equivalent qualifications (e.g., JNCIS-DC, CCNP/CCDP, AWS Advanced Networking).
• Infrastructure as Code or Network as Code practices.
• Juniper routing and switching.
• Palo Alto and/or Fortinet firewalls.
• Ansible, Python, CI/CD tools (Git, Puppet, Jenkins, Terraform).
