Aviva is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join the Cloud Platform Engineering team in the UK, working across AWS and Terraform, Python and Jenkins. The role involves hands-on delivery, design input and mentoring junior engineers in a fast-paced financial services environment.

You’ll contribute to scalable cloud services, IaC patterns and secure, reliable solutions that support millions of customers. The Bristol/Norwich/York/Eastleigh locations may apply, with a competitive salary and benefits.

Senior Cloud Engineer

Location: Norwich, Bristol, York or Eastleigh

Salary: Circa 60k

A bit about the role:

This is a hands‑on role where you'll own important, complex work and see it through to the end. You'll build, and improve our cloud services, make sound engineering decisions, and take an active part in the design and architecture of what we deliver. You'll spot where things can be better and turn those ideas into changes that line up with Aviva's technology priorities.

You'll be someone our more junior engineers can learn from, sharing what you know, setting a good example, and helping raise the standard for how we build in the cloud. You'll work alongside our engineering leaders and internal customer teams to deliver technology solutions that are reliable, well‑made and useful to our internal teams.

We favour cloud‑native services, and treat Infrastructure as Code as the rule, not the exception.

• Starting salary Circa £60k (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
