Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer - Observability

About this role

You'll work with high-performing infrastructure and software engineering teams, supporting the UK business' multi-year migration to AWS. Your role involves solving complex problems and leading solution migrations within an established public cloud footprint.

What you'll do

• Lead design and delivery of solutions in our AWS environment, focusing on automation and streamlining tasks to improve application engineering and accelerate feature delivery.
• Drive observability initiatives, implementing best practices and enhancing key metrics like MTTR and MTTD.
• Collaborate with SMEs, Engineers, Architects, and stakeholders to lead initiatives from conception through design, decision-making, delivery, and support.

What we're looking for

• Experience establishing and maintaining observability standards in complex cloud estates.
• Passion for solving complex problems with high-quality, well-documented solutions.
• Experience with cloud migration, re-platforming, or re-hosting solutions into the cloud.
• Strong scripting, DevOps tooling, and solution design skills.
• Ability to translate requirements into solutions and communicate effectively across audiences.
• Diverse technical background, preferably including public cloud engineering and enterprise tech.
• Effective communication and influence skills within delivery teams.
• Growth mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies and frameworks.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles related to infrastructure and cloud.
• Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of networking principles.
• Comfortable working in an agile environment.
• High standards for engineering excellence.

Work location and environment

This is a permanent role based in Nottingham, with a hybrid working model (3 days in-office: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays).
