Senior Clinical Trials Pharmacy Technician
The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust provides highly-specialist cancer care for a population of 2.4 million people across Cheshire & Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man and parts of Lancashire.
In June 2020, we opened Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Liverpool, our spectacular new cancer hospital in the heart of Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter, providing state-of-the-art facilities as part of a £162m investment.
It is an exciting time for the clinical trials service at CCC-Liverpool . The department is developing and delivering a large number of cutting edge clinical trials in collaboration with our colleagues within research and innovation. We have multiple aseptic isolators on site and deliver observational and interventional studies. We have opportunities to increase our Band 5 senior Technicians to support our expanding service. We are looking for enthusiastic, forward thinking and experienced candidates to join our friendly and dedicated team. This is an important position within our large, diverse and welcoming pharmacy team.
Working pattern will be: 37.5 hours per week, and there may be weekends and on-call on a rota basis.
Part time hours will be considered.
In summary you will:
Provide leadership to Entry Level Technicians and Pharmacy Assistants
Responsible for operating the clinical trials service delivery within the pharmacy department, including, but not limited to:
Stock control, liaising with relevant departments inside the organisation and clinical trial sponsors/clinical research associates outside the organisation, training, audits and accuracy checking.
Maintaining or achieving personal validation in aseptic manipulation and aseptic use.
Refer any non-protocol or non-standard prescriptions to relevant authority.
Need to refer matters requiring expert advice to the appropriate pharmacist e.g. availability of drugs/release of intrathecal chemotherapy/ trial medications.
