Job summary

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated clinical trials senior pharmacy assistant to join our specialist team. The post supports the safe, accurate and efficient management of clinical trials medicines from receipt to destruction.

The role requires knowledge of dispensary procedures and pharmacy computer systems, and relevant hospital pharmacy experience with a focus on clinical trials.

Qualifications

Hold a General Pharmacy Council - (recognised Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant qualification or equivalent)
GCSE in Mathematics and English Language (minimum of grade C)
GCP training within the last 2 years

Responsibilities

Receipt of clinical trial medication, confirming condition and temperature, acknowledging receipt on systems
Participation in stock control and quality checks using computerized and paper logs
Monthly expiry date checks for clinical trials medication and reporting
Participation in clinical trial medications returns and destruction processing
Check temperatures of storage areas and generate data reports for monitoring system
Maintain Pharmacy files to a high standard and prepare new trial documentation
Assist with recording/processing of modifications
Assist with data entry/ invoicing as required
