Job summary

Southend University Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Clinical Counselling Psychologist/Psychological Therapist to join the Pain Management team across MSE locations. The role focuses on specialist psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions for complex pain with co-morbid mental health issues.

You will work in a multidisciplinary setting, delivering 1:1 and group interventions, and contributing to service development and outcomes data across sites such as Broomfield,

Qualifications

• Experience delivering CBT and/or ACT.
• Experience running both 1:1 and group sessions.
• Commitment to teamwork and involving service users and carers in care.
• Experience working with diverse and multicultural communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychological assessments for Pain Service patients.
• Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions for pain management.
• Facilitate 1:1 and group sessions within a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to onward referrals and coordination with other services.
• Support PMP eligibility assessments and pain management planning.
• Collaborate in MDT to deliver PMPs and supervise Band 7 staff across sites.
• Monitor and report clinical outcomes; engage in audits and research.
