Job summary

Southend University Hospital NHS Trust is seeking enthusiastic psychological therapists/psychologists to join the Pain Management team within the Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. The role covers adult outpatients across multiple sites, with options for full-time, part-time or job share.

You will provide specialist assessments and evidence-based interventions and contribute to MDT discussions. The post emphasises CPD and service development.

Qualifications

• Specialist skills in CBT and/or ACT.
• Experience delivering group and 1-2-1 sessions.
• Commitment to team working and service user involvement.
• Experience working with diversity in a multicultural setting.
• Opportunity to develop psychosocial interventions within MDT.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychological assessment and effective evidence-based interventions.
• Offer psychological screening, psychoeducational information, assessment and treatment to Pain Service patients using holistic formulations.
• Participate in Pain Service MDT discussions and decision making.
• Offer consultation on psychological care to non-psychology colleagues.
• Provide reflective spaces and psychoeducational training to Pain Service staff when required.
• Work with a diverse patient and staff population with sensitivity to cultural and religious backgrounds.
