Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, Clinical Lead (Band 8b) in Greater Manchester. The role entails senior clinical leadership, supervision, and shaping psychologically informed care within Specialist Mental Health Teams.

You will collaborate in an integrated MDT and contribute to transforming services. Experience in complex cases, service development and addressing health inequalities is essential.

Qualifications

• Doctorate level training in clinical/counselling psychology or equivalent.
• HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist.
• Additional training in management/leadership is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior clinical leadership and supervision to practitioners within Specialist Mental Health Teams.
• Offer consultation on complex presentations (e.g., psychosis, bipolar).
• Support access to psychological interventions and reduce unwarranted variation.
• Embed psychologically-informed practice within MDT working and lead transformation initiatives.
