Job summary

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in Surrey Heath invites applications for a Band 8a Senior Practitioner Psychologist. The role focuses on specialist assessment, formulation and interventions for people with complex mental health needs in community services.

You will provide clinical leadership, supervise assistant and trainee psychologists, and contribute to service development, quality improvement and research to improve equity of access to psychological services.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology or equivalent.
• HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist.
• Driving licence for community work (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist psychological assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions for people with complex mental health needs across community services.
• Provide psychological leadership, consultation and expert advice to multidisciplinary teams, promoting trauma-informed and psychologically informed practice.
• Undertake complex risk assessments and care planning with service users, carers and partner agencies to support integrated care pathways.
• Supervise, mentor and train assistant psychologists, trainees, junior psychological workforce and multidisciplinary staff.
• Lead and contribute to service development, quality improvement, audit and research to improve accessibility, effectiveness and equity of psychological services.
