Job summary

Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Clinical Oncologist specialising in Breast and Colorectal cancers, based at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The post is a replacement with 10 Programmed Activities and an on-call supplement, with contributions to an out-of-hours rota.

The role involves providing a comprehensive Oncology service, collaborating with MDTs, supporting site-specific teams, supervising junior medical staff, and engaging in teaching, audit and research

Qualifications

• Specialist medical oncology expertise with focus on breast and colorectal cancers.
• Willingness to contribute to a wide range of tumour sites if required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive oncology service with colleagues and develop site-specific cancer services.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support site-specific teams.
• Participate in the out-of-hours service and on-call rota.
• Liaise with Surgeons, Physicians and staff across the Trust.
• Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to teaching and research.
• Engage in clinical audit, annual appraisal, and job planning review.
