Job summary

Fletchers Group in Reading is seeking an experienced Solicitor (Grade B / C or equivalent) to join our clinical negligence team. You will independently manage a varied caseload and provide proactive, client-focused, commercially minded advice to achieve excellent outcomes.

Qualifications

• Recent experience handling a caseload in clinical negligence
• 5 years+ PQE or equivalent experience in clinical negligence
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and drafting skills
• Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office, Proclaim, Excel)
• Excellent attention to detail and strong commercial awareness
• Ability to coach and mentor junior team members
• Flexible and results‑driven, able to meet deadlines
• Excellent client care skills

Responsibilities

• Running an individual caseload in a clinical negligence practice
• Providing guidance and support to the team to deliver exceptional service
• Contributing to proactive and commercial case management and progression
• Supporting leadership to ensure delivery of team KPIs and performance goals
• Maintaining accurate time recording and documentation
• Drafting legal documents including LOC, letters of instruction, and correspondence
• Negotiating settlements and progression of proceedings as required
• Overseeing draft work and assisting in strategy discussions
