This role is suitable for doctors with post MRCP or equivalent and 5 years of experience in general medicine or neurology. Responsibilities include ward work, outpatient clinics, hyperacute stroke ward duties, out-of-hours cover on a 1:18 basis, and supervision of junior doctors. The position is primarily based at Denmark Hill, with a possible 3-month rotation to Princess Royal University Hospital.
We are committed to postgraduate education and professional development, providing formal supervision and participation in departmental educational activities.
The role involves being part of the neurology/stroke SpR training team, based in the neurology unit. Responsibilities include ward care, outpatient clinics, acute thrombolysis on-call, and regional neurology bed cover. The appointee will supervise junior staff and participate in educational activities, including subspecialty meetings and grand rounds. Regular audit and clinical governance meetings are also part of the role.
