Job description

Senior Clinical Fellow in Liver Transplant and Anaesthesia

This is a Senior Clinical Fellow post in Hepatobiliary and Liver Transplant Anaesthesia based at the Royal Free Hospital. The post holder will join an existing pool of deanery trainees in the anaesthetics department participating in a comprehensive ST3+ (Specialist Trainee Year 3 and above) training program in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine.

This role is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract (FTC) or two sequential 6-month FTCs.

  • Participation in on-call rota for liver transplantation anaesthesia
  • Anaesthesia for elective HPB theatres
  • Anaesthesia for elective complex major surgery
  • Participation in clinical audit

Qualifications
  • GMC registration
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • FRCA or equivalent
  • ALS
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
  • ATLS
  • APLS/EPALS
Anaesthetic knowledge and experience
  • Minimum 5 years ICU/Anaesthetics experience (including 3 years in anaesthetics)
  • Logbook evidence of experience
  • Experience with ERAS pathways
  • Ability to manage general emergency admissions
  • Experience in managing acute pain
