Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a registrar to gain registrar-level experience in Elderly Medicine at Chorley Hospital, within a teaching hospital environment. You will work under four Consultant Geriatricians and a team of junior fellows, gaining exposure to all main medical sub-specialities.

Qualifications

• Doctors who have completed CMT or equivalent experience and are seeking further specialty training.
• registrar-level post in Elderly Medicine in a teaching hospital.
• Collaborate with four Consultant Geriatricians and an MDT.
• Shadowing available before taking on on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead ward rounds on Rookwood B ward with approx. 16 patients.
• Support consultant-led ward rounds.
• Participate in the general medicine on-call rota (MAU-based).
• Engage in multidisciplinary team working with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy.
• Pursue training in general medicine and comprehensive geriatric assessment; attend departmental meetings and grand rounds.
