Job summary

Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Daventry invites applications for a Senior Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join the Gender Identity Service. You will deliver assessments, formulations and evidence-based interventions for transgender and gender diverse adults within a multidisciplinary team.

This post offers a pathway from band 7 preceptorship to band 8a, with opportunities for service development, supervision of trainees and involvement in audit and research.

Qualifications

• Senior Clinical or Counselling Psychologist in the NHS.
• Experience with gender diverse adults.
• Ability to supervise Trainees and Assistants.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations and interventions for adults accessing the Gender Identity Service.
• Develop and implement psychologically informed treatment plans.
• Offer consultation to multidisciplinary colleagues and contribute to care planning.
• Work autonomously with clinical responsibility for assessment, treatment and discharge.
• Deliver supervision to Trainee and Assistant Psychologists.
• Contribute to service development, audits, research and quality improvement.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain clinical records.
