Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust in Stevenage is recruiting a Senior Clinical Coder to provide an accurate, timely and consistent clinical coding service for inpatient and outpatient activity, using ICD-10 and OPCS-4 conventions.

The Department offers a structured training pathway from Band 4 to Band 5, with NCCQ study and a Recruitment and Retention Premium of 15% on qualification. Our Trust is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across our sites.

Qualifications

• Experience with ICD-10 and OPCS-4 coding.
• Ability to code inpatient and outpatient activity accurately and timely.
• Familiarity with data sources used in coding (case notes, discharge summaries, histology).

Responsibilities

• Provide an effective, accurate, timely and consistent clinical coding service for inpatient and outpatient activity.
• Code diagnoses and clearly defined treatments according to ICD-10 and OPCS-4 conventions.
• Support NCCQ training and progression from Band 4 to Band 5 with a 15% recruitment premium upon qualification.
