Job summary

Pro Talent in East Grinstead is seeking a skilled Senior Client Accountant for a part-time, permanent role. The position is office-based with 22–28 hours per week across 3–5 days, driving is essential.

You will prepare annual accounts, manage VAT and CIS returns, and support junior staff with bookkeeping. Pro Talent offers a friendly, client-first environment in a countryside setting.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of practice experience in a similar role.
• AAT qualified (or equivalent).
• Strong working knowledge of VAT law and CIS returns.
• Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Iris and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
• A proactive approach and confidence in client-facing situations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and small limited companies.
• Oversee and submit quarterly VAT returns and monthly CIS returns.
• Support and review bookkeeping tasks carried out by junior staff.
• Manage client queries related to VAT, CIS, and general accounting matters.
• Prepare background work for year-end accounts and collate personal tax information.
• Utilise cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and Iris.
• Stay up-to-date with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.
