Job summary

Connect Legal Partners is seeking a Clerk of Works lead to oversee site quality on construction projects in the Manchester area. You will supervise a small team and act as the main client contact for build quality, coordinating several projects simultaneously and maintaining comprehensive inspection records with photographs.

You will also deliver training and CPD sessions, manage key client accounts, and assist in winning new projects through networking.

Qualifications

• Requires Clerk of Works experience, ideally in mechanical and electrical work.
• ICWCI membership or plan to gain within six months.
• Sharp eye for defects, good time management, strong communication and negotiation skills, confident IT use.

The role

You will lead clerk of works services on construction projects and supervise a small team, with line management duties. You will be the main client contact on build quality, run several projects at once, and keep site inspection records and photographs to agreed standards. You will deliver training and CPD sessions, look after key client accounts and help win new projects through networking. The work is site based and includes stairs, ladders and scaffolding.

What you will need

A wide understanding of the building industry, including materials, trades, methods and legal requirements. Clerk of works experience, ideally in mechanical and electrical work. ICWCI membership or a plan to gain it within six months. A sharp eye for defects, good time management, strong communication and negotiation skills, and confident IT use.
