Job Description:

Brook Street (UK) Ltd is recruiting a Senior Clerical Officer for our public sector client, Education Authority Northern Ireland, Ballymena.

The Senior Clerical Officer will provide advice and assistance to Education Authority officers, customers, the public, and other professionals as directed by the Programme Manager. You will support daily operational staff with administrative tasks.

Proficiency in MS Office packages such as Excel, Outlook, and Word is essential. You should be comfortable with spreadsheets, databases, typing, and word-processing duties.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Have the equivalent of five GCSEs at grade C or above
  • At least one year of administrative experience in an office environment
  • Good customer service skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support using IT tools including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, email, fax, intranet, and internet
  • Answer calls, record conversations, and escalate queries as needed
  • Assist in collecting data and statistical information to support officers
  • Prepare correspondence, minutes, notes, and clerical support documents
  • Respond tactfully and diplomatically to queries and issues in the absence of the programme manager
  • Order supplies, manage diaries, and maintain filing systems
  • Delegate tasks to the office team when necessary

Pay rate: £14.53 per hour

Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday
