Job summary

BakerHicks is seeking a Senior Civil Technician in Manchester to produce high-quality civil drawings and models using Civil 3D and AutoCAD. You will lead drainage, highways, earthworks and external works design coordination, supporting projects from concept to detailed design.

You will mentor junior technicians and ensure compliance with UK standards. You will work closely with Civil Engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver buildable, safe solutions while maintaining high quality.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Civil Technician in an engineering consultancy or similar environment.
• HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• High proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of UK civil engineering standards, CDM Regulations and best practice.
• Full UK driving licence and eligibility for security clearance where required.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality 2D and 3D civil drawings and models.
• Lead the production and coordination of drainage, highways, earthworks and external works designs.
• Support projects from concept through to detailed design.
• Collaborate with Civil Engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop buildable solutions.
• Check and review drawings and models for quality and compliance.
• Mentor and provide technical support to junior technicians.
