Job summary

Amentum is seeking Principal Civil/Structural Engineers for its UK offices to join a team delivering high‑integrity civil and structural design across major programmes. The role supports hybrid working and may be based in Stockton, Newcastle, Bristol, or other UK sites.

You’ll lead technical delivery, liaise with partners and clients, ensure compliance with British and international standards, and contribute to complex project success in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Good, accredited MEng degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
• Strong technical design experience using British, international standards and Eurocodes.
• Proven delivery track record in civil/structural engineering projects.
• Experience working within a regulated, quality-assured system.

Responsibilities

• Define, implement and deliver civil/structural engineering design that meets safety, functional and business requirements.
• Deliver civil and structural design for reinforced concrete, plated steel, maritime structures, and nuclear facilities.
• Manage interfaces between key Delivery Partners and the design team.
• Develop deliverables list and format (drawings, specifications, reports, etc.)

Due to continued growth we are currently seeking Principal Civil/Structural Engineers to join our team, these positions support hybrid working and can be based across our office network within the UK - Stockton, Newcastle, Bristol, Gloucester, Glasgow, Westlakes and Warrington.

As a Principal CS&A Engineer your responsibilities could include:

• Working in a team of highly experienced CS&A engineers and architects in the definition, implementation and delivery of specified functional works that achieves safety, functional and business requirements.
• Delivery of the civil, structural Engineering Design, including reinforced concrete structures, plated steel structures, maritime structures and specialized Nuclear facilities.
• Manage the interface to and between key Delivery Partners and the design team.
• Develop deliverables list and format (drawings, specifications, reports, etc.)

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Good, accredited MEng degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
• Good all-round technical design expertise using British and international standards, and/or Eurocodes
• Background engineering experience demonstrating a record of successful delivery.
• Experience of working within a regulated and quality assured system.
