Job summary

ALTEN LTD - UK is recruiting a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer to deliver civil design solutions for major infrastructure projects in regulated environments. The role focuses on roads, highways, pavements, and related infrastructure within a multidisciplinary team.

The candidate will work on-site in a hybrid model (3x on-site) with clearances. A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering (or equivalent military experience) is required and experience in design substantiation and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience.
• Experience designing roads, highways, pavements and related infrastructure.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Ability to coordinate interfaces across multiple disciplines.
• Proficiency with civil engineering design software.

Responsibilities

• Deliver civil engineering design, analysis and assessment for roads/highways and pavements.
• Produce and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and reports.
• Develop design substantiation and provide technical justifications.
• Collaborate with structural, geotechnical, drainage and environmental disciplines.
• Support design reviews, technical assurance and issue resolution throughout delivery.
• Ensure outputs comply with codes, standards and health & safety regulations.
• Contribute to risk mitigation and engineering governance.
• Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing.
