Job summary

Altrad UK, Ireland & Nordics is seeking an experienced Civil / Structural Senior Engineer to join the Middlesbrough team. You will contribute to civil and structural design across projects, working with Principal/Lead Engineers, project teams, clients and other disciplines to deliver high-quality, cost-effective engineering solutions.

The role includes delivering detailed design documents, supporting reviews, site visits and ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements,

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (MEng or BEng Hons).
• Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership.
• Strong knowledge of civil/structural design principles.
• Familiarity with STAAD Pro or similar software.
• Understanding materials and construction processes.
• Knowledge of industry standards and codes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare detailed civil and structural design documents, including layouts, reports and calculations.
• Support Principal/Lead Engineers in reviewing and checking design deliverables.
• Participate in site visits and surveys for design development.
• Engage with cross-disciplinary teams and clients to meet milestones.
• Generate and present technical documentation and progress reports.
• Maintain high standards of quality and safety per regulations and client requirements.
• Contribute to process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Deliver accurate civil and structural design documentation.
