Senior Civil Estimator – Tunnels & Civils

Job summary

Talent Link is seeking an experienced Estimator in Manchester to join a civil engineering and infrastructure team. You will work within a skilled tendering group, develop customer solutions, review client requirements, and prepare robust estimates for a diverse project portfolio.

You will interpret PQQ/ITT, perform quantity take-offs, collate risk registers, and present adjudication packs. Strong Candy software and MS Office skills, plus chartered engineer status, are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting client tender requirements from PQQ and ITT documentation.
• Experience taking off and reviewing Bills of Quantities from client information.
• Prepare estimates promptly and accurately according to procedures.
• Collate opportunity and risk registers and key assumptions registers.
• Collaborate with Bid Manager, regional business and planner to agree methodology.
• Prepare estimating adjudication packs and present basis of estimates.
• Maintain notes of adjudication and handover meetings and actions.
• Prepare handover packs at contract award and support site teams.
• Estimating experience in shafts, tunnelling, pipelines, MEICA, rail civils or groundworks.
• Experience using Candy estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Interpret tender requirements and generate comprehensive estimates.
• Review and compile Bills of Quantities from client information.
• Develop and present the basis of estimates to stakeholders.
• Liaise with Bid Manager and planners to agree methodologies.
• Create and maintain risk and assumption registers for bids.
• Prepare adjudication packs and document handover details.
• Support site teams post-contract award with estimating input.
