Job summary

Red Sky Personnel Ltd is seeking a Senior Estimator for civil engineering and infrastructure projects in West Cumbria. You will lead detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for a major renewal programme across roads, rail, bridges and utilities.

You will review drawings and bills of quantities, perform quantity take-offs, and work with bid managers and engineers to deliver competitive tenders. Prior NEC experience and mentoring junior estimators are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in detailed first-principles estimates for civil projects.
• Strong tendering and pricing skills for highways/rail/bridges.
• Ability to review drawings, BOQ, and tender documentation.
• Proven track record of collaborating with bid, planning and procurement teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for civil and infrastructure projects.
• Develop first-principles estimates covering labour, plant, materials, subcontractors and preliminaries.
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents; carry out quantity take-offs.
• Coordinate with Bid Managers, Planners, Procurement and Engineering teams to develop competitive submissions.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations; assess methods and costs.
